YOLLO: Code of Conduct

All users of YOLLO Application and website are expected to abide by our Code of Conduct.

A quick summary

Our events and online spaces are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender and gender identity, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, or religion (or lack thereof). We at YOLLO do not tolerate the harassment of participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery are considered inappropriate and the accounts of any user/members violating the above rules will be suspended permanently. We totally discourage users from putting inaccurate information on their YOLLO profile.

Detailed Statement

Examples of behaviour that contributes to creating a positive environment include:

  1. Using welcoming and inclusive language.
  2. Usage of preferred pronouns while talking/mentioning other members of the community.
  3. Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences
  4. Referring to people by their preferred pronouns and using gender-neutral pronouns when uncertain
  5. Accepting constructive criticism gracefully.
  6. Focusing on what is best for the YOLLO community.
  7. Showing empathy towards other members of the community.

Examples of unacceptable behaviour by participants include:

  1. Usage of sexualised language or imagery and unwelcome sexual attention or advances.
  2. Trolling, insulting/derogatory comments, and personal or political attack.
  3. Public or private harassment.
  4. Publishing other’s private information, such as a physical or electronic address, without explicit permission. Other conduct that could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting.
  5. Dismissing or attacking inclusion-oriented requests.

We at YOLLO pledge to prioritise marginalised and vulnerable people’s safety over privileged people’s comfort.

  1. We will not act on complaints regarding: ‘Reverse’ -isms, including ‘reverse racism,’ ‘reverse sexism,’ and ‘cisphobia’.
  2. Reasonable communication of boundaries, such as 'leave me alone,' 'go away,' or 'I’m not discussing this with you.'
  3. Someone’s refusal to explain or debate social justice concepts.
  4. Criticisms of racist, sexist, cissexist, or otherwise oppressive behaviour or assumptions.

Law Enforcement

Enforcement Violations of the Code of Conduct may be reported by contacting the team sending an email to admin@yolloverse.com. All reports will be reviewed and investigated and will result in a response that is deemed necessary and appropriate to the circumstances. Further details of specific enforcement policies may be posted separately. YOLLO has the right and responsibility to remove profiles or other contributions that are not aligned to this Code of Conduct or to suspend temporarily or permanently any members for other behaviours that they deem inaccurate, false, inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful.
